Current Event: Pet Pavilion 2008

Are you a pet owner? Or a pet business owner?

Then February 22-24, 2008 you should be at the Luxury Pet Pavilion Spring 2008 Trade Show in Los Angeles.

This is more than just a pet show, this event is designed to educate the public and businesses. It's aim: to empower pet professionals and spread awareness of pets in need. This is truly an event that wants to help pets in every way, in homes and in business.

What to expect?

Celebri-Dog Kickoff Event: 10 am in LA’s Laurel Canyon Dog Park.

Entertainment: February 23, 2008 from 8-11 pm for live music, hors d’ouevres, and award presentations.

Contests: Best Dressed Dog, the Best Booth, and the Best New Pet Product.

Exhibit Hall Hours: Saturday, February 23, from 10 am-6 pm, and Sunday, February 24, from 10 am-6 pm

America's Family Pet Expo

It's the world’s largest consumer pet expo! America’s Family Pet Expo will feature manufacturers, retailers, groomers, veterinarians, hobbyist groups, humane rescue organizations, humane societies, breeders, etc. I love this Expo because it's not just for dogs, or just for cats, its for dogs, cats, birds, fish & reptiles!

There's going to be something for everyone!

Some of last year's entertainment included, llama's, performing pigs, performing birds, performing dogs, animal competitions, a cat show, pet adoptions and aquarium displays!

Leave No Pet Behind

The Real Estate market is down and there are lots of houses being abandoned with no one to take care of them, along with the pets left behind in those houses.

Cecily Tippery is a real estate agent who most recently walked into an empty house only to find three dogs tied up in the backyard, abandoned by their owners. Unfortunately, when someone can't take care of their house, their pets become nothing more but added stress. In her 17 years of experience Tippery has seen litters of kittens, birds, goldfish and turtles.

Even though Tippery ( being the good pet-lover she is!) tries to take home and care for every animal she finds it can be tricky. Legally, pets are personal property and can not be taken unless abandoned for at a minimum 18 days. But don't worry, she comes back to the houses and feeds them and checks on them in the meantime.
